WTF is Nu-Punk?!

Last February, I posted this TikTok because I was noticing the pop punk revival we were all experiencing was a bit different than the Dickies shorts and spikey hair pop punk of the 90’s and 2000’s

MGK blew everyone’s tits off with Tickets To My Downfall, a hybrid of hip hop-influenced pop-punk with Travis Barker at the helm. After that, the floodgates were ripped fucking open with an incredible drop of new music from artists like Mod Sun, KennyHoopla, jxdn, fucking WILLOW?!

I felt like just calling it “pop punk” and moving on was a disservice, so I picked a name that would piss people off, but make sense, thus “nu-punk” was born.
