PANTERA PLAYS FIRST SHOW IN 21 YEARS…SORT OF.
Pantera played their first show in 21 years this weekend at the Hell and Heaven Fest in Mexico. This was the first of many tribute shows booked with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante filling in for the late Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. A lot of metalheads still can’t accept this, saying “iT’s nOt ThE rEaL pAnTeRa” because it’s missing two of the band’s core members. The estate of Vinnie Paul agreed it’s not a reunion, but it’s a celebration of Pantera and their legacy.
The high point was during a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan,” where they projected throwback photos and videos of Dimebag and Vinnie on the screen. Phil Anselmo dedicated it all to Dime and Vince. So what do you think, are you on board with these Tribute shows or are you still team fuck no?

HERE’S WHY METALLICA’S $7,000 CONCERT TICKET IS ACTUALLY A PRETTY GOOD DEAL
Metallica revealed the ticket packages for their upcoming tour which will include two nights in each city with rotating openers of Pantera, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills, and more. One ticket package had fans clutching their pearls and shitting their pants, though. The $7,000 “Lux Aeterna” package, which includes a private viewing platform for up to eight people, a cooler with drinks and beer, a pre-show party, and a free merch item for everyone in the group. Here’s the thing though, the ticket is for both nights and you can have different guests for each night.
So if you found 15 people to go to this thing with you and split the ticket 16 ways, it’s less than $500 a person. And that includes merch and drinks which would probably be a couple hundred bucks by itself. Obviously finding 15 friends might be the hardest part of the whole thing, but if you can pull it off, then you’re really paying like $300 to see Metallica in a private lounge with no merch or food lines, priority check-in, and some other perks. Don’t get me wrong, $300 is still a fuck ton for a concert ticket, but if Metallica is your favorite band, it seems like a good deal to me, what do you think?
DISCLAIMER: I DON’T GIVE A FUCK IF YOU GO OR NOT, METALLICA DIDN’T PAY ME FOR THIS

HAVE WE HEARD THE LAST EVER DISTURBED ALBUM?
It’s possible that Disturbed’s latest album Divisive could be their last. They’re not breaking up or anything, but guitarist Dan Donegan said that as much as they love making albums, singles just seem to make more sense. You put all this time, energy and money into making 10 songs and the world really only hears the 3 or 4 singles because people just don’t seem to consume whole albums anymore. Clown from Slipknot said something similar recently. I know Ronnie Radke has said that he just plans on doing singles as well, so it feels like more and more bands are steering this way. It might get to the point where putting out a full album is almost like a throwback, nostalgic move. Do you still listen to full albums?
